CRGT News Update
First and foremost, we hope that you and your loved ones are all well. These are difficult and unprecedented times for many of us, but we look forward to more positive times ahead. Here is a brief mid-month update on what the Trust have been up to and where we currently are with the Clubhouse rebuild…
Clubhouse Build update:
As some of you will have seen, the mainframe steel has now been erected, the sub floor work has been completed and brickwork has commenced. Currently, the lift shaft housing is being completed and visually the building is taking shape . The building, despite some earlier delays is expected to complete as scheduled on 17th July 2020, this is really good news.
Armfield Construction and their contractors are continuing to work on site and most importantly are following all construction guidelines for working during the COVID-19 emergency. We thank them for their efforts at this difficult time.
The CRGT continue to work closely with Armfield Construction to ensure that work continues during COVID-19 and that supplies, labour and materials are obtained to ensure the smooth completion of the project. Wherever possible Armfield Construction are using local suppliers.
We would like to extend our thanks to the community for adhering to government guidelines at this critical time and we ask all visitors to maintain a safe distance from those not in their household whilst using the recreation ground.
Claygate Flower and Village Show
Sadly, but not unexpectedly, the Show and the ‘Gig on the Rec’ that were due to take place in early July, have been cancelled, we are sorry to have to report this but let’s hope that next year the Show and the Gig will be even bigger and better.
